Open source products are not freeware. Neither is their main advantage the fact that no licencing fees are incurred.

By using open source products you are protected from mergers, product cancellations, consolidations and takeovers. You can switch providers at any time and, since you have the source code yourself, you can work on your project with your own developers.

We have been working with open source frameworks such as TYPO3 for over 10 years. We are highly experienced in dealing with open source developers and see ourselves as part of the action, but are open enough to also apply good proprietary software.
